WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Lexington Two announces administrators who will begin new roles with the district on July 1.
PRINCIPALS
Annette Ariail, Springdale Elementary School. Ariail most recently served as assistant principal at Cayce Elementary School. She started her education career in Lexington Two as a fifth grade teacher at the former Pineview Elementary. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.
Angela Brown, Wood Elementary School. Brown most recently served as assistant principal at Congaree Elementary and, before that, as assistant principal at the former Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center. Prior to that, she served as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at Saxe Gotha Elementary School and as a sixth-grade teacher at Carolina Springs Middle School, all in Lexington 1. She also taught in Lexington Two’s adult education program. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.
Karen Holloman, Pine Ridge Middle School. Holloman most recently served as assistant principal at Riverbank Elementary in Lexington Two, and prior to that as an assistant principal at the former Pineview Elementary School. She also was an assistant principal at Bishopville Primary School and band director at Mount Pleasant Middle/Dennis Intermediate School in Lee County Schools. She started her education career as a choir, music and drama teacher at Swansea High School in Lexington 4. Holloman has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from Jones International.
Elaine Lundy, New Bridge Academy. Lundy most recently served as assistant principal at Cayce Elementary. Prior to that, she served in Lexington Two as ABA coordinator and transition specialist and, before that, as a special education teacher. Lundy received a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and master’s degrees from Grand Canyon University and Columbia College.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
Dr. Hawanya Amaker, Cayce Elementary School. Dr. Amaker most recently served as a teacher at Wood Elementary and held earlier positions as an elementary teacher and ED/self-contained teacher in Lexington Two. She also previously served as a Project Read coordinator at Southern Wesleyan University and as a temporary administrative assistant in the Department of Certification/Teacher Quality. She received a bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University, a master’s degree from Webster University, and a doctoral degree from SC State University.
Ashley Caulder, Cayce Elementary School. Caulder most recently served as an ID Self-Contained Moderate teacher at Congaree Elementary. Prior to that, she was a teacher working with multiple disabilities at Swansea High School in Lexington 4. Caulder received a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University.
Nicholas Godfrey, Wood Elementary School. Godfrey most recently served as a social studies teacher in the Lexington 1 Online Learning Academy. Prior to that he was magnet coordinator at Irmo High School in Lexington-Richland 5, and taught at Starr Iva Middle School in Anderson 3 and at Simpson Alternative Academy in the Pickens County School District. He received a bachelor’s degree from Lander University, master’s degree from Kaplan University, and M.Ed. from Lamar University.
Andrew Price, Wood Elementary School. Price most recently served as a PE teacher at Riverbank Elementary, and prior to that was a PE teacher at the former BC Grammar No. 1 in Lexington Two. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from the American College of Education.
Chris Pumphrey, Airport High School. Pumphrey most recently served as a teacher at Saluda River Academy for the Arts. Prior to that, he served at Airport High School as a teacher and administrator. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees and his M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina.
Morgen Sightler, Congaree Elementary School. Sightler most recently served as a 5K teacher at Springdale Elementary. She first joined Lexington Two at Springdale as a kindergarten-first grade teacher. She received a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and a master’s degree from Anderson University.
Robert (Scott) Stogner, New Bridge Academy. Stogner most recently served as a history teacher at Chapin High School, and held similar teaching positions at Lugoff-Elgin High School in Kershaw County, and at Lexington High School, Lexington Middle School, and White Knoll Middle School, all in Lexington 1. He started his education career as an LD Resource teacher at Stephens County High School in Georgia. He received a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University and his M.Ed. from Fort Hays State University.
Cheryl Talton, Airport High School. Talton is currently an administrative assistant/math teacher at Airport, where she also started her education career. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from Southern Wesleyan University.
Amy Tribble, Cayce Elementary School. Tribble most recently served as a reading coach at Cayce Elementary, and prior to that as a teacher at the former Davis Elementary in Lexington Two and lead interventionist at Cayce Elementary. She started her career in education as an early childhood teacher at Woodruff Primary School in Spartanburg 4. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from Southern Arkansas University.
Kellie Worley, Pine Ridge Middle School. Worley most recently served as a middle level math teacher at the school, where she has been since 2010. She started her career in education as a teacher assistant in Resource at Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School, and before that she was an Intelligence Chief Petty Officer. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Grand Canyon University and an Ed. Leadership from Liberty University.
Melanie Yoder, Springdale Elementary. Yoder most recently served as assistant principal at Wood Elementary. She previously worked as a teacher at Springdale Elementary and the former Pineview Elementary, and as an instructional facilitator at the former Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Carolina.
OTHER ADMINISTRATORS
Barry Bolen, Brookland-Cayce High School Principal. Bolen will serve as principal for the 2022-2023 school year. He has a long history with Lexington Two, including earlier roles as principal at Fulmer Middle School and Brookland-Cayce High School and as an assistant superintendent. He served as superintendent from 2000 until his retirement from the district in 2008. He also has served as acting superintendent.
Leonard Frierson, Associate Principal/Hearing Officer. Frierson will serve as an associate principal at Riverbank Elementary School and as a hearing officer at the Community Education Center. He has served in a number of roles in the district since arriving in 1996, among them principal, assistant principal, and teacher. He is a former member of the US Army Reserve. He received a bachelor’s degree and M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from SC State University.
Hope Vrana, Director of Title I and Federal Accountability. Vrana most recently served as principal at Springdale Elementary, and prior to that was an assistant principal and third grade teacher at the school. She also served as coordinator of student services in Lexington Two, and she started her education career as a teacher at Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary School with Charles County Public Schools in Maryland. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
ADMINISTRATION
Santana Sanguiliano, Director of Security and Risk. Sanguiliano most recently served as manager of security and emergency services at Richland 1 and, prior to that, was a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
The hirings were approved by the Lexington Two Board of Trustees for the 2022-2023 school year. The board also welcomed new Superintendent Dr. Brenda Hafner, who started her new position on July 1.
The first day of classes for the new school year is Monday, August 15.
