WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The Lexington Two Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on the proposed General Fund Budget for 2024-2025.
The public hearing is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in the board room at the Lexington Two district office, 3205 Platt Springs Road. The public hearing will be followed by the regular monthly board meeting at 6 p.m. Members of the public are invited to sign up at the district office before the start of the 5:30 p.m. budget hearing to speak there, in accordance with Policy BEDH.
The attachment provides an overview of the proposed General Fund Budget for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1. Lexington Two continues to post the lowest tax rate among all districts in Richland and Lexington Counties.
As a reminder, the district’s General Fund operating budget provides funding for the district’s day-to-day operations, such as paying salaries, insurance, utilities, and purchasing supplies, materials, and services. The district’s Capital Projects Improvement Funds (CPIF) pays for fixed assets such as facilities and equipment.
Members of the public who are not able to attend the meeting in person will be able to watch a live stream of the June 20 budget public hearing, and the monthly board meeting that follows, by visiting https://www.youtube.com/user/LexingtonTwo/live.
