The latest honor comes on the heels of a New Bridge student's first-place finish this past spring in the InvestWrite national writing competition.

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – New Bridge Academy’s middle school came in third place in the 2024-2025 Stock Market Game.

Ten teams represented New Bridge Academy in the Stock Market Game, with students competing with 85 South Carolina middle school teams.  New Bridge teacher Dr. Harmonica Hart leads the school’s teams.

The winners in the elementary, middle and high school divisions will be recognized at an Awards Banquet in May. The Stock Market Game is presented by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Foundation.

New Bridge students have competed well in previous Stock Market Game activities. This past spring, Jordan Bovain was announced as the school’s most recent first place winner of InvestWrite, a national writing competition and program of the SIFMA Foundation offered to teachers and students participating in The Stock Market Game. It aims to add a critical thinking component to help reinforce concepts learned in the classroom, according to the InvestWrite website. Jordan (pictured here with Dr. Hart) was recognized at the 35th Annual Economics and Financial Literacy Awards event in West Columbia.
